Then any driver should be held accountable to the same standard. My stance, as I've been shifting errr umm stating, is that eLogs don't make you safer. They help you to be compliant. EOBR's don't actually make you safe (here is the shift) however it does allow the company to identify unsafe behaviors and potentially change them.
Why CSA 2010 and E-Logs are a good thing.

So how long before an e- log delete industry starts up?
volvodriver01, dirthaller and lorha1159 Thank this. -
I'll assume you mean like tampering with the OER to send a GPX that shows information that better suits your need. With the current set up it would be possible, however you'd need to know the correct format for it to work, you'd also need to not report any information until you're sure you have it correct. With updates every 30 minutes you'd likely stand out like a sore thumb when your unit doesn't update with/like the rest of the fleet.

Sorry I shorten everything. Yes I mean edit data on the fly and make it look good . The trick would be not to stick out , kind of fly under the radar . Just saying that computers can be hacked and data manipulated . If there is a market some software engineer will get rich. And it won't be me , I hate new fangled things!
-
They dont need to hire anyone, they can do it all themselves but they must remark as to why and if its line 3 then that remark better be a dam good reason.
Software issues happen from time to time .. The gps qualcom lat/lon whatever it is stamps will be tough to get around.
This is why a driver must take pictures of the unit to prove that a carrier has indeed falsified logs intentionaly and with a willfull disregard. Change a few numbers and boom no signal ..
Ultimately greed takes control. -
As long as all drivers who do not run them go to prison for all accidents they are involved in... as long as we are going to go into fantasy mode and post over emotional drivel...
-
My point is that if the drivers along with companies that choose to use them are caught being at fault and are held accountable then the proof of them not being any safer than the way its done now would be seen. Then this crap of people wanting and willing for the change over would quitely go away. Stop agreeing with them and stand your ground against them...

At fault for what exactly? The paper and the electronic systems are both open to the same fee / fine schedules. I stand behind the EOBR's because it would stand a greater chance of stopping the outlaws from working for free and bragging about it as some sort of value (all the while complaining about not being paid for "what they are worth")when it is that more than anything else that has driven the standards and the pay into the sewer. No company can compete against the bumper polishers who will work for free.. if you look around and wonder where all the decent paying outfits went and honestly have no worldly idea.. get your shine box out and give the boss another free one.Autocar and otherhalftw Thank this.

Ok I get it. You are stuck in a truck with EOBRs and you can't get the same amount of work done and make as much money as the Paper guys so you are going to stomp your feet till everyone is on Electronic.EZX1100 and volvodriver01 Thank this.

Even the government is skeptical, yet we have drivers who are getting screwed crying how great it is
