Like G/MAN stated a few posts back. You see alot more carriers on e-logs sitting on their sides in a ditch then you do a smaller guy runnin paper. If you want to say e-logs make you compliant and there for safer well thats crap because not only did your e-log driver roll his truck into the ditch he also landed on a car carrying a family and smashed em. Come to find out the ol boy couldn't stop as often as he would have liked to and stretch his legs since he is on e-logs and now looky what has happened. All while the guy running the same load from start point to finish point stopping as he felt needed running paper logs is still runnin down the road getting the load where it has to go. Darn e-log driver is freaking out at the mess he just created because he got a cramp in his leg.

There are many reasons for that, you know better than to use that as an argument.

How many drivers enjoy sitting at a shipper/reciever eating their lunch and using the restroom. I will answer that not very many. I am better relaxed and ready for my long day by running the way I do. There needs to be a study on who has more accidents. Paper logs or E-logs. I will bet its E-logs.. Which equals they are unsafe.

Same argument....what stops an e-log driver from stopping(?) personal choice...that's it. E-logs require a driver to actually "plan" his trip, his day, his week....and use his time wisely.

Now the driver that thinks he/she must stop and "visit" with the different waitresses, good-ole-boys, and take time away from what we are paid to do....DRIVE....

Your arguments are nothing more than obfuscation of the real discussion....are you a driver that can think ahead, or are you a steering wheel holder that can't think at all?

So it is for your personal enjoyment? I thought it was work, your job, your responsibility to your company and your family....to get the job done safely and correctly....

    Silly me....I just inserted that 4 letter word.......work.....and Bidens 3 letter word.....JOB(s).

Work ethic....not in your vocabulary(?)......well it should be!

I still do my job and drive and I bet alot safer then the guy on e-logs. While I am relaxed and enjoying my day your guy is up tight because he is being pushed to beat the clock. IF you enjoy Rushin against the clock have at it. Hope you enjoy the stress of your e-logs.

Like I stated I am plenty relaxed and safer then the ol boy that is forced to eat and use the restroom in his truck. If you want to preach E-logs then stop refering them to do with safety. They are not any safer then paper.

E-logs are not about "safety" per se....they are intended to be used for compliance with rules and regulations. It is the driver and the company that will dictate "safety" and if needed additional "training" to be safe.

If that is the case...then it would fall to the company to adjust the delivery time to accommodate the required driving time to have the driver to stay in compliance with the rules and regulations. This is a prime example of one of the reasons to have this CSA crapola...the companies could force a driver to run illegal without complicity when the driver did run in an unsafe manner, they simply shrugged their shoulders...."oh well, there are other drivers that will know how to cheat to get the job done the way we want it done"...used to be the general rule of thumb, and too many older drivers (you and me as example) were willing to let the carriers dictate and get away with it!
