I would like to know How they are making more money running E-logs than when they ran Paper? This isn't even able to be argued. There is no way. Unless you are meaning that now instead of taking time off they are working weeks at a time and running 49 weeks out of the year. Then now I see it being possible. I work half the time as they do and make double yearly income. All be I think I will stick to my paper.

I think they will make people dumber if you don't have the right support staff in place. Left to their own devices there are a number of drivers that will run in constant violation of the HOS because they aren't willing to communicate (or able to understand) what the eLogs are telling them. So turning folks onto eLogs will not solve the problem, it's a combination of education and staffing. Trucking companies aren't real big fans of hiring office staff if they don't need to, but if everything goes eLogs they'll need to pick up some dedicated eLoggers that know the HOS, how to read situations, and be available round the clock for questions. So, it's kind of a love hate deal for me. They're an awesome tool for tracking compliance and providing real time feedback for drivers. On the other hand I hate them because drivers don't think for themselves, that scares me. Then again GPS scares me also, it's a great tool but if you don't apply it correctly it's pretty freakin worthless.

We're able to get better utilization, same home time. Our regional fleet is now operating on split breaks. Before everything was a 10, or run until your too exhausted to figure out where you're at. Now we're taking advantage of the HOS and using them to benefit our needs. More miles for some, more loads for all. So mileage and percentage guys are all happy.

We're also able to take out vastly improved CSA scores and get rate increases, so again pay go up.

Yeap, she won't let a driver log off duty driving to get home. She makes him log the 30 minutes instead.

A lot of companies don't offer PC. That would be a company policy, if you don't like kick up to the top. Ask if he's cool with the drivers using the trucks for their own personal use.

The driver takes his truck home everynight/day. Boss has no problems with us using the trucks for personal use. Alot of drivers live more then 15 miles from the yard or the plant in Grand Forks and the boss lets them take the trucks home. I only live 9 miles from the yard so I have to leave my truck in the yard. It is easier though since I can't park the truck and trailer in front of my house due to city laws and dropping the trailer and re hooking is a pain in the winter since we have extra coolant lines running to the trailer for the heaters in them.

Could be! That's me...err something like that. I guess that's why I talked my company into allowing PC. Freakin' drivers wanting comfort and crap like that.

Anybody tell me how to install this thing if Obumer will give me a free one with tax payers money? Also can any of these e-log experts tell me how to install this monster? Can I install this thing in line with my 600 amp amplifier( maybe a jumper on my 6 GA wiring for my amp) or maybe in the glove box, under the drivers seat or in the bunk. Shoot I forgot one last question, does it have a program for the chicken haulers and bullhaulers. Confused in Las Vegas. :biggrin_255:
