What you posted in red goes out of the barn in a shovel, I run paper and as many others that statement is a joke. Pushing that cool-aid on people that are naive my work with some.
Why CSA 2010 and E-Logs are a good thing.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that every driver will be more compliant. The industry as a whole will be much more compliant. Elogs are not a cure all for trucking. I've stated before that I don't think that everyone needs to be forced on them. Elogs do however help to bring issues to light and allow safety guys, the ones trying to ruin your career, to address these issues before the become habits (or if they are habits to start laying groundwork to change those habits). I don't feel that anyone needs to loose their job because they run non-compliant either. When we switched we had several drivers with 40 plus years of experience some that had never seen a people net or a cell phone. We understood that these drivers might need additional time to adapt to the changing ways. We worked with them and provided a support structure to fit their needs when they needed it. One guy called it quits about a full year, but that was partially because they stopped running him only to FL and back. The others are still around and hardly ever violate their HOS.volvodriver01 Thanks this.

I think it is funny when I drive by a truck in the ditch and it says, Driver using Electronic Logs on the side of the tractor. From November to Feb, in my area, you can see all the Safe Elog trucks easily. many of them are parked in the median or the ditch with snow pushed up over their hoods. The non elog trucks are usually still rolling just moving slower since they don't have to have a drag race with some electronic device ont he dash of the truck.

I laugh when I hear drivers whining on the C.B. about being stuck in traffic and out of hours.
Rat, 7-UP, volvodriver01 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Oh boy now we will hear about how that driver didn't pre-plan properly and that he should have stopped an hour BEFORE his hours were up and found him a safe place to park...
