Already answered. Enforce the whole #### book. If rules and regs aren't gonna be enforced, why have them? Enforce them all, equally.

Maybe just maybe it is time ya'll face 1 very cold hard TRUTH---There are those that run legal&those that do not--Ain't no amount of laws rules or regulations gonna change that---look at the big picture---Good decent proper behavior CAN'T be legislated--if it could we wouldn't need jails!!! And take it from someone been out here way longer than most of yall---someone is gonna find a way(s)around that computer deal and someone is gonna buy it!! The only way to start 2 bring real change in this biz(&INMHO) nothing that has been done by the gov in the last 50 years has done a bit of good!!)The ONLY way 2 start 2 change things is by eliminating this industries ARCHAIC Taft-Hartly exemption! Thus forcing. Companies 2 pay @ least minimum wage plus overtime----when drivers r finally compensated 4 everything they do&no longer feel it necessary 2 run themselves into the ground 2 feed their families---Then there will b little or no impetus 2 cheat---because cheating would no longer have value!!!! Now feel free 2 return 2 ur senseless bickering!!!
    Just my $.02!!!

    123456 and volvodriver01 Thank this.

if i was King of DOT for a day, first thing i would completely scratch HOS and poll the drivers. these are grown men, not children. we trust them by virtue of their licenses to operate cmvs and are responsible for feeding their families. i dont believe anyone wants unsafe drivers or equipment on the roads

i dont believe "one size fits all", some of us can operate on 6hrs of sleep, some need 8 or 9

but i believe the source of the problem is drivers dont know when to tell their dispatchers they are tired, or too afraid

and thats a much larger problem, men too cowardly to handle their affairs, so they will gladly let a computer do it for them

That is why the HOS were started, to begin with, over 70 years ago.

i agree, but instead of helping us, mandating 10hrs is hurting many of us

I like it better than the old 8 off. I'm not pushed as hard and get more actual sleep.

Yet still for some reason I believe if a DOT officer ran with you for a period of time he would catch you logging illegal at some point. No matter what you believe there is not a driver that has never logged illegal. I am talking about the smallest thing that most drivers don't even think about.
