Well all I have to say is that you must have NOT read the quote of mine that you are refering to. I currently do conform to the regs. The E-LOG and EGRB regs are not in effect yet so I have not conformed to them. It is my opinion they are worthless for SAFETY. I believe they are being FORCED UPON US JUST FOR THE REVENUE THAT THEY WILL PRODUCE. The 5-7% you want to talk about is nothing compared to the 3 million trucks that you say are on the road any given day. If you read my post that you want to quote me on then you will see that I STATED IF THE COMPANIES WANT THEM THEN HAVE AT EM BUT NOBODY SHOULD BE FORCED TO HAVE THEM. I am not agianst companies. Nowhere will you see me say that. I don't believe the E-LOGS NOR THE EGRB should be forced in the trucking industry. From now on read the post before picking out what you like to quote.
Why CSA 2010 and E-Logs are a good thing.

,,bah truckers story
heres some facts,,,http://ai.fmcsa.dot.gov/SMS/Data/carrier.aspx?enc=JUP3XPSz031hL6YvFCxMhA== -
That sucks! I feel for the driver as that isnt right This is the type of points awarding that im against and I just bet an EOBR and E logs would have saved the day ( thats for the ones that believe in them)volvodriver01 Thanks this.

Well since you like to look things up lets have your company's name so we can get some facts and see how well csa is working for you since you stated your on E-LOGS. Don't get in a hurry as I have all the time in the world to see this.Mommas_money_maker Thanks this.

It puts extra costs on big company's just as much as a single o/o but a mega carrier will get a volume deal vs o/o no deal to pay for e logs.Thats not a level playing field. They also haul mega amounts of cheap freight and pay peanuts to their drivers. Thats not level either. I cant afford to haul cheap freight as I like to not just pay for the truck, would like to earn something toovolvodriver01 Thanks this.

As for as I know if they are local then it will not bother them at all. I know in Indiana as long as your intrastate then you don't have to worry about the HOS. I do not know the specifics but local do not have to run logs as long as they keep there hours on duty like a time card.

I'd say this is a pretty good source for my information. So, now tell me how this driver "earned" max points for a fatality crash he was in no way responsible for. I happen to know this guy personally. There is no safer driver on the road. He runs by the book. Yet, he now has a pisspoor CSA rating. Explain how this is right.
We want to pull good drivers like this off the road because your precious CSA says he's a bad driver when somebody commits suicide on his truck?? That idea is just as nuts and idiotic as the very flawed design of CSA.
Roadmedic, volvodriver01 and Mommas_money_maker Thank this. -
I havent followed this thread but did read the first page.
You are right, this is weeding out the bums.
I know a guy who was a complete scum bag. Got a car hauler and a lic and got to work with close to no experience. Needless to say...he is now OUT of Service. Per the snap shot. I have been watching him and checking in on him. I am glad he is out of serivce. Guys like him should not be on the road. More less running rates down buy running hot all day and night.
