Legally you have 6 minutes before you need to change your duty status.

[h=3]§395.8 Driver's record of duty status.[/h]Question 1: How should a change of duty status for a short period of time be shown on the driver's record of duty status?
Guidance: Short periods of time (less than 15 minutes) may be identified by drawing a line from the appropriate on-duty (not driving) or driving line to the remarks section and entering the amount of time, such as "6 minutes," and the geographic location of the duty status change.

Or how it's written in my new book of regulations

the Pilot on 30 in IN, a cop gave a citation for a driver leaving pilot after just stopping to take a leak

    "not keeping status current"

and to be honest, who wants to drive around with a stopwatch?

I should start a thread in the jokes section with all my regulations, and or tweaks to the current regulations.

A cop can give you a ticket for anything they wish, it does not make it a law or even a violation. You have a real good chance to fight tickets and win.
