I cheated. E logs will not change a darn thing other than line 3. That's it. It will not know if a person is on line 2 while on the dock loading. It won't know, just like paper won't know.
Why CSA 2010 and E-Logs are a good thing.

Really??? Point it out in THE Bill of Rights. To be employed is a right. To drive is a privilege, administered by the states. You do have a right to try to earn that privilege, though.DrtyDiesel Thanks this.

With a Elog, a company cannot force you to run hard and they cannot force you to run illegally.
Not too long ago (maybe 30 or 40 years ago) companies would run you 24/7/365 so they can compete with the competition. Take a load from Texas to Vermont and be there within 2 1/2 days. Oh, and you're driving solo. After you drop that load, you can pick one up a hour later in New Hampsire and take it to SoCal. Be there in 3 1/2 days. Then it's 3 days to NY. So on and so on. This is why drivers practically screamed for these regulations. Think mainstream carriers are taking advantage of drivers now?
By saying Elogs aren't needed, you're essentially saying HOS regs aren't needed. If you run legally, there is no difference between the 2. If you're concerned about the involved cost factor, it's a tax write-off. -
They couldn't force you to run illegal on paper either. Its your "right" like Autocar stated to say no. If drivers don't have the nerve to say no while running paper than they don't need to be out here. There have been numberous drivers running E-logs that admit to cheating on their HOS. I don't think you know what your talking about other than the fact you like them so you back em. I run legally for the most part but there is a difference between the 2. I am a big boy and know how to draw a line and I am not afraid to use a pen and paper with a calculator to fill out a piece of paper. Way too many drivers admit the 70 hour recap is confusing and takes to long figuring it out. How freaking hard is it people? Get your heads out of ur ###.

Yes sir. DrtyDiesel drove for a company running E-logs and admits they aren't perfect. Cheating is Cheating.
I don't know why you want to believe E-logs will make the trucking world perfect but here is proof they won't. -
Yeah, I have no clue what I'm talking about. Yeah, I love Elogs. Typical responce from someone loosing an argument. FYI, I haven't touched a log in 12 years. So how can I love Elogs?
-
Please point out where I said I believed this.
-
Ha I am pretty sure I am not losing an argument on this thread. Just from you statements here the last two pages I would like to give a big shout out to you as you must be one of those that fit with my signature line. Thanks a whole hell of alot....
-
Again, it's not the Elog. It's the HOS regs. That's the point I've been arguing.
-
Okay I get it you don't like the current HOS like the rest of us. My point is E-logs will not help the industry so they should never be pushed down our throats. The fact of them being a tax write off what the hell does that have to do with anything? I should not have to spend money out of my pocket for something that will not benefit my operation. Now when the feds pay out for the system and there are absolutely no fee's involved then that might be different.
