I think it is only fair that a company is stuck with the points for 2 years. It helps the DOT understand if the problem is with the company or was with the driver. If used properly, and I have my doubts, you could make some interesting correlations.
Why CSA 2010 and E-Logs are a good thing.
I'm so sick of you SOBS that run illegal, it will be nice to hear you say, "do you want fries with that?" once you can no longer drive.
Or maybe we'll all be saying "Mr. Jose from Mexico that hauls all the US freight now, would you like pappas with your tacos sir?"
Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it. Anytime someone says "I'm here from the government and I'm here to help" be afraid.TachItUp, snowblind, volvodriver01 and 3 others Thank this. -
Who is going to decide if my elog is working accurately? What about computer glitches? What about dead spots? How many tickets will i have to get before someone decides that mabe elog is not working properly? Has anyone ever called the dead Air France passengers up,and asked them how impressed they were over the [magic box]? oh I forgot about the plane and passengers blown up off Long Island in the 90s?

I just find it amazing how so many drivers are so tied to all their tech toys! Using their lap tops or smart phones to see how much time they have, a GPS to route themselves, Elogs, Qualcomm and all the other goodies!
All I have in my truck is my XM and a lap top that all I use it for is to look at sites like this when I'm killing some time.
I guess I grew up in a different era.
Oh by the way, I never ran more than 1 log book, no crystal meth, no black beauties, no tooth picks, no west coast turnarounds, didn't kill any 4 wheelers. But back in those days a truck driver was looked up to and respected. Today even with all the hi-tech toys and rules we are looked at as slobs and losers. Kinda makes you wonder?Mommas_money_maker, G/MAN and volvodriver01 Thank this. -

Personally, I don't worry too much about CSA2010. I have two things on mine, 1 brake adjustment and one low speeding ticket. I blame the first one on the shop that did not adjust up the brakes when they put in new brakes the day before the inspection. The second one was my fault. Was not paying attention and did not get slowed down enough rolling into a very small town in southern ND. Boss did not even chew me out for it because I had beat myself up over it enough. It had been close to 20 years since my last speeding ticket.
