yeah, you just gotta add a little hillbilly twang to it. The poster is stating that we should probably wait and return the phone call at a better time. For example when he was crossing the George Washington Bridge he got a phone call and he answered it, however despite being in the Bronx it wasn't as bad an idea as this first may seem because it was 1 in the morning. He goes on to state that cell phone bans should be enforce regionally and gives an example of answering your phone in Iowa or Nebraska, states with less dense populations, is easier than answering your phone in Atlanta, or Washington DC due to the increased traffic flow at the times of "rush hour".

    For Bulletproof:

"Probably, all in all, we should wait and call back. Like the other day, I was on the George Washington Bridge and the Cross Bronx Expressway. It wasn't bad, but of course, it was 1:00 am, so you know it's always easy going then. Bit if you are driving through Iowa or Nebraska and those kinds of states, it is completely different than driving through DC, Houston or Atlanta during rush hour."

Get off your high horse and quit trying to belittle people. If you can 't understand it, skip it and move on to the next post.

Hence the more extensive testing. See anything with tits, tires,or tracks I can drive and operate. I can or would with some minimal time be competent enough to pass any testing on the operation of any equipment. How do I know? I never make bets I can loose and I never ask for a test I could fail.

No One ever said qualified drivers would have to leave their employment. Sure it could make entry into the industry more restrictive waiting to move up your license. I presented the model used by Crane operators, ship lines, RR and Planes as an example of how it could work. I just do not believe anyone should be considered "licensed" to operate 40 tons after that joke of a CDL test and two weeks of "training". I guess it is asking to much to ensure that the people being issued a license actually are profficient in the operation of these vehicles regardless of situation or conditions.

Everyone on here, and if they don't they are lying, will readily admit these people being issued CDL's are in no way proficient at operation of a five axle articulated vehicle. They have no experience with adverse conditions, most I see do not understand the fundamental elements of moving the machine in forward or reverse, and no concept of recovery when they have placed themselves in a no win situation.

It isn't about saving lives, though I believe that would be a positive result. It is about having professional drivers actually be professional drivers. It is about raising the bar for operating a vehicle to the point people are not concerned to roll through a scale, down a hill, or through midday Manhattan traffic because the operator is qualified to be operating around others. If that comes from training standards or testing standards I do not care so long as we end the bent trailers, destroyed landscape, bent signs, crushed fairings, cut tires, busted curbs, and scattered garbage that gives the civilians the impression no one in the #### industry has a clue what they are doing.

The real problem is most of these people will never become proficient . They will leave within a few months and be temporarily replace by another driver lacking skills .
This is because schools never fail anyone . The only qualification required to graduate is the ability to pay the fee . Satisfactory performance should be required on simulators for a certificate to be awarded .
I once called a school and really laid into them for sending us a graduate that was the poorest excuse for a driver I had ever seen . They admitted he needed repeated attempts to pass tests . That's fine on the range .
You don't get second or third chances on the road .

That's why I would rather they wash out in training or in smaller equipment.

Dear bulletproof I will reply no it isn't it is like net-a-kit/texting w/out all the acronyms they or what alot of other people I read on here use.
I can bloviate an blather an spew endless twaddle, if needed but I choice too write in said fashion, what I really like is when people then reply as to, how much of an ignoranus this person is just look at the way he types.
I will offer some sympathy it is hard to read an understand, it does one thing for certain it sends that gray mass inside the cranium ponding into action.
Also is that such a bad thing, I don't have any issue with you or dislike for, that is just a way to save time I don't have a laptop, nor do I want one I can do all the same with a smartphone that fits in the pocket.
Anyway I hope you don't feel offend that is never my intent I just thought I would explain or as we say were I live. I'd thought I splaind tht too. Have good day an safe driving

i have had to do both, paper and elogs. elogs was great in that i didnt have to waste time grabbing the logs every time i stopped. it did all the work for you. but it also pretty much TOLD me when i can run and when i couldnt. lets say i need to run the max mile s i can get for the day and i havnt made it to me safehaven and i cannot legally pull over on the side where i am at. now, soe companies will allow the offduty driving to get to a safehaven, but, then you are in the crossfires for using it to advance to your destination....yet, i am NOT gonna turn around to find a place to stop haha....its a good thing with elogs and a bad one....love hate relationship lol.
