It's a phone that makes the user feel dumb while they are learning to use it.

It's a phone that's smart enough to know where you are when you get creative with your log book . It's smarter than safety departments . Drivers can fool them . Then the FMCSA auditor comes in . Safety is proud of their no violation logs until the auditor asks to see what their Smart Phones say they were doing . :biggrin_25524:

Auditor asks for my phone....I'll give him my phone.

The throw away that lays in the drawer in the bunk turned off for months at a time that I just charged up when they said we were getting audited.

I had this talk with roadmedic an ain't herd back from it yet

Butt my take is the cellphone is the operating source for u r bluetooth

Or whatever type of handfree set u use CANNOT WORK WITHOUT THE CELLPHONE

THEREFORE FURTHER SAID USE OF BLUETOOTH VIA CELLPHONE OR

ANY CELLPHONE USE IN A CMV IS PROHIBATED BY SAID LAW ISSUED BY FMSCA ON SAID DATE

Here is what Truckers News said:
But this could be just a stepping stone to a full ban. I read another article that said the NTSB is urging the FMCSA and States to ban ALL cell phone use in (moving) Commercial vehicles. And I also read they may take a look at restricting other in-cab electronic devices.

--What would that be? GPS, CB, FM radio?

I guess all we really need is a steering wheel...
