Why did Con-way do away with their 5000 mile guarantee for teams?

Whole point of it was to even out your paycheque

Take a 1800 mi week look @ taxes
Take a 3500 mi week look @ taxes

Saves you $ (esp state tax)
And attracts drivers to click the story

Gotta give props to the suits on that move.
    ....ugggg I hated typing that.

But....keep on raising my dividend .

    Read Chinatown's post.

    Good companies rarely advertise.
Fairly good companies do, but keep it simple.

The rest are full of similar "hooks and scams", aimed at the not so wise. My cynicism stems from the disappointed who get hooked. Sure, buyer beware - but its still not right.

    Guaranteed miles - BS
    Top industry pay - BS
    Lowest turnover - BS
    Great equipment - BS

Hot looking girls whispering in each others ears, happy smiling families thrilled to see daddy on the weekend, baseball mitts, chromed out trucks, "we pay for experience" . . . not buying.

I read C T's post and his example had nothing to do with anything Con-Way had said or offered. I saw nothing of guaranteed miles, team pay is pretty good for fresh out of school at $.45 a mile, so, what is their turn over rate, equipment looks fine... There was no hook or scam advertised. There was a pay stabilization option. There used to be a link here for a couples blog that told the story of them starting at Con-Way, through their first year. Up, downs, good, bad. All great info. Seemed very honest. Of course the mods deleted it, called it advertising or some nonsense.

I understand that there is a lot of BS in the world, but we don't have to be so spring loaded to throwing the BS flag at things that don't deserve it. We all have to start somewhere and OD or UPS isn't an option for everyone.

don't you dare try to tell me that I can't make 80 grand a year with US Xpress. They advertise everywhere that you can and will make that much with them. They also give you a brand new 2015 truck. It's on their website. They can't put anything on their website that isn't true!!! How dare you
