I have never quit, still with the same company I started with even though I have seen tons of drivers quit. In fact when I see a new young skinny driver with a confused look on his face I know he wont last long and sure enough he is gone a couple of months later. I believe the main reason is that most of them need a job where they have the same schedule every day and at least eight hours of sleep per night. My company only gives us a couple of hours of power naps every few hours and luckily I am able to do that and complete the long drive.
-
You must not be traveling more than 100 miles from your home terminal than. Otherwise you'd be subject to hours of services rules, and those power naps aren't going to cut it.UKJ Thanks this.

Hope you're making over 1500$ a week not getting adequate rest is bad for your health. Honestly think about running paper logs sometimes there's days ik I could drive 400 miles more, but it's just not worth it.

well iv quit lotsa jobs for a whole bunch of reasons but the reason im quiting my job current soon is :
boss is disorganized and leaves me sittin at home for weeks ata time with no pay .
boss pisses and moans about money bein tite while him and his fam run off to the rodeo .
boss lives in the 1980s when it comes to the real world of 2015 rules and enforcement ...also seems to think that because we are in montana and haul agricultural products the law dosent apply to us .
hes a good guy and not a crook by any means and pays well when i work but he refuses to get anywhere near industry standards on his equipment or understand csa .
ya beat a dead horse so il be movin on soon . -
Yup about that much. Even though you are in sleeper at the shipper doesnt mean you are sleeping. Company gives us a preplan that picks up 10 hours from our appt time when can we sleep? I'm just saving up money to buy my own truck so I can leave.

Why is it my dispatcher says to me re: detention pay that, "this is the industry standard"
Where we don't get paid. Well, why don't you be an INNOVATOR us express? and pay your drivers for their time.
If the billionaire owner has his helicopter on the roof and can afford the helicopter fuel, well he can afford to pay us #### detention. Sick of this bullfrap -
I notice a lot of the ones that do pay detention is only after 2 hours. I wonder how many office staff they could keep if they required them to work the first 2 hours for free.

Bobtail Barry and bzinger Thank this. -
Willing to pay a lumper fee of $300, But will only pay a driver $50.
Not getting paid to sit around when its the trip planner's fault.
Denying detention pay after 2 hours because "We have a contract with them".
Slip seating. Having to clean someone else's mess because you can't stand the mess, Then getting written up because you forgot a McDonald's bag.bzinger Thanks this. -
