What I'm talking about is just cruising. Enjoying the ride and driving slower. That's what I'm getting at.

It means you can put the hammer down and not worry about speeding unless in a 55/45/35 zone. One good thing about goign O/O, I can run the 80mph stretch across Texas and not be a rolling death sentence.

No thanks lol. One thing my uncle told me is don't drive too fast, enjoy what you do and you'll never work a day in your life. I am young, but I try not to show it haha.

I talk like an old man cuz that's who I learned from I guess ;)

Driving more miles does not necessarily mean that you are making more money. If it costs you more money in fuel and wear and tear on your equipment, then you may not be making more money. You may even make less. There are times when it is important to get the load delivered more quickly, but you should be able to keep your speed down and still get most any load delivered with proper planning. Keeping the door closed is more important than high speed. You can click away a lot of miles in the course of a day, even at 65 mph.

    TRUE..!!

If drivers would only go fast when it's needed there wouldn't be the need to govern trucks...

When I started at REM in Canada the trucks were governed at 75 mph and most of the drivers drove as fast as possible, 75 mph. Average fuel mileage then (2004) was a little over 5 mpg. Now trucks are governed at 65 mph, not really to save fuel but because it's the law in Quebec and Ontario. Average fuel mileage now is 5.7 mpg.

That's more than 10 cents a mile savings. they have 25 company trucks that do app 125,000 miles/year. Without a calculator I'd say that's over 300,000 dollars a year savings. And drivers still do the same amount of miles as 8 years ago...

I don't think you're a real trucker at all. You're a wannabe trucker, coming up with stories and stirring the pot, hoping to get people upset..!!

May have stirred the pot, but I don't know what stories I've come up with. Far from a wannabe too.
