After spending hours to find a parking space in the Northeast to tripping over Pee bottles at the Peeing Flylot while being asked for money by smelly homeless hobos and waking up to your front end tore off by a Swift driver.
Welcome to the industry sir!D.Tibbitt, Toomanybikes, Dominick253 and 6 others Thank this. -
Driver, I want you to PM me when you get that first model completed.
I trained for awhile. I'm not sure what people think trucking is, coming into it. I'm sure many think it's a get rich / easy job.
Takes the right breed. There's so many things to do, all the time, most people aren't okay with that.
Many people have never been away from home very much, and start to freak when they find themselves 3000 miles away from home. 97% aren't mature enough to take on all that comes with this profession.
I've seen guys get really unsettled being up in mountains and forests, that were city kids.
All you need to do to humble any trainee, is go into the sleeper as your coming into Dallas and say " Just handle it."
I grew up on the interstate and could navigate you anywhere in North America by the time I was 10 years old.
I'd wager 75% of the people coming into this business can't read a map.D.Tibbitt, Lumper Humper, samton and 5 others Thank this. -
D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

Unrealistic expectations, subpar training, inability to roll with the punches, inability to think ahead and think for one's self.

They were unemployed losers before they saw that billboard saying something about big money and a profession in weeks. "It's just driving...you sit there and hold a steeringwheel and get paid. How hard can it be?"
So Loser comes in with the idea that he's going to be on vacation. "Which company should I work for? I only want to drive between the hours of 9am and 2pm. No city driving. No northeast, no west coast, no mountains, no 2 lanes, no more than 300 miles per day, 100%drop and hook, $1000/week net. I want an APU, I want to be home every other day and every weekend guaranteed."
Somehow the answers to all the hard questions point to Carolina Cargo.
D.Tibbitt, RayH, Lumper Humper and 17 others Thank this.
