LOL..... too bad every driver can't go 70mph and "enjoy their work"

Maybe some Mega carrier will read this and find a new solution to recruiting drivers... "we go 70, enjoy the drive"

going slower puts me to sleep too.

and on another note. if slower means savings. how come the megas are all doing 65 or better now.

cuz when i first started. 55 was there max. and fuel was $1.20.

today, fuel is $4.00 and they're all passing me up.

Maybe you missed the point there. If you don't "enjoy the work" you need to find something to do that you enjoy.

I pass steering wheel holders all the time kicked back watching a movie with there feet on the dash. Yea they're enjoying life.

And you missed the point that not going 70 doesn't mean they don't enjoy their jobs. Just because that is what makes the job enjoyable for you, doesn't mean it does for others. As for passing "steering wheel holders", you are doing the same thing but going 70.

I'm just confised I guess on why 70 makes it so much more exhillrating for you??? Is it because you have to pass more drivers, and make more lane changes?? I have no idea, but more power to ya, just stay safe and keep the rubber side down.

I tend to just take it easy and enjoy the sceenery. I'm not paid by the mile, and they mean nothing to me, so getting in 700 miles a day is pointless in my view.

I guess it all depends on where we are driving as well. 55mph out west is deff a slow going day, but 55mph on the east coast is more than enough LOL

No, i set my cruise between 62-65 and I'm always in the right lane as my loads are usually over 11' wide. I have no reason to be in the center lane, as i said, miles are not my concern. I let the super truckers have at it in the left lanes, I just watch as you pass and I catch up to you 2 hours down the road in a traffic jam or as your coming out of the rest areas. Going 70 saves you no time compared to 65 unless you sit for 10 hours, non-stop behind the wheel. Too many variables

It's not that it's exhilerating. It's the fact that it will probably put me in front of five guys and save me two hours waiting to load.

You obviously missed the point. If you don't enjoy what your doing (and I think you do) find something else to do.

I see so many people out that don't have a clue what life's all about. It's sad.

Agree'd.... that's why I'm moving to Florida in a few months. I'm tired of only being able to enjoy and live my life for 8 months a year. The other 4 months I spend sitting inside staring at snow falling LOL

I don't view living life behind the wheel of 80k pounds of steel as "living".... it's the way I get the funds to "enjoy life" ;)
