Until you consider that almost 90% of them won't make the first year.

Um, better start thinking about less than "one weekend every other week."

  6. For the homeless guys and long term unemployed on their way to homelessness, going otr is a f#!king cake walk. It always amuses me how dot wants 3 years verifialble work experience for the mill graduates. It just seems like if I was lucky, ambitious or talented enough to keep good paying work for three years straight, why would I considered trucking?suffice it to say those notarized letters saved my ###

In the few months I've been on here,I've read alot posts of newbie's who are tring to find another job after quiting their first one citing "Family issues"
Which we know is code for couldn't handle being away from home.
A then can't find local, So their back on here asking "who will hire me"
I know this won't apply to all, But most.

Trucking is for people that don't ever need to be home and don't mind being treated like a fool by your dispatchers and nearly every shipper and consignee you meet.

If I would have known that I'd make less than 20k this year, I never would have signed up. Now I'm in debt that I can't afford to pay, because I barely make enough money to get by. Good thing I don't smoke or have any expensive habits.

Im at Millington School right now, we had a couple wuit when one didnt pass thier first range test and the other did, we had another guy get to the last day, fail his test and said screw it and left..I failed my first two tests this week and have to stay another week..but im still here..Im pretty messed up about it, but determined to do it..this #### isnt a cake walk, I have previous truck driving experiance and I failed my range test twice this week..there are people here from all walks of life from the homless to foriegners, to family men who have been out of work and need to make money, to others who just want to travel and get paid for it..but Its tough as hell out here on your own with no family and friends around for comfort..to be honest Id love to quit right now and go home because im discouraged..but Im a real ####### and If you tell me I cant do something or Im not good at something Im gonna do it!..so why do people quit?..lots of reasons but mostly because they cant handle the stress that this job brings I would assume.

Hang in there big guy ... you're going through the most stressful part of this job right now. Once you get your CDL it's all cake.
