Anyone else have the magic cruise set switch also changes the truck ahead speed. I slowly catch at say 63 a truck doing maybe 62, I click it down once they also slow down a bit. And repeat. Go out to pass now they wanna drive.
Why do people speed up when you try to pass them?

Well, there is one way that could be possible. If you’re running flatlands and they’re faster but more heavily loaded and approach a hill. They’ll have caught you but won’t be able to get by you until the back side.
-
C'mon now you know what I'm saying! No one has ever caught me because of ME. Of course running through the hills is a completely different deal and isn't what's being discussed here.Dennixx Thanks this.

How do you like running at night on a wide open highway when a truck catches up with you rather quickly but then proceeds to sit behind you with LED headlights blasting you in the retina? Ranks right up there in my book.
-
The trucks that are based out of Bakersfield or Sacramento are horrible for doing that. I would have those idiots tattooed on my backside running across I-44.
-
Back out of it and see what happens. They’ll get the picture. When they get over return the favor, if they are the only one you’re gonna blind. Or get over and adjust your mirror so it sends it back.

I have never had an adaptive cruise that would back down the speed as I approach a slower vehicle, but fail to regain the set speed once that slower vehicle is no longer there. Once the radar is clear or the vehicle speeds up, the adaptive cruise adjusts the speed back to where it was originally.

One word, “distracted“. And then, when you go to past them, it wakes them up, pulls them out of their trance for whatever reason they’re in one, maybe on their phone, talking to someone, daydreaming, whatever it might be, and they see you coming up beside them look down and realize they’re going 5 mph under the speed limit or whatever the case might be. Yes it’s annoying, we all deal with it.
same thing happens when someone’s merging and you do the right thing and the courteous thing and you move over to let them merge and then they sit right beside you at the same speed. In the meantime, you’ve got about eight vehicles backed up behind you, and you’re only choice is to slow down and let them pass you on the right, so you can move over. But OHHHH wait you can’t do that either because everybody’s behind you start switching over and swerving into the right lane to pass you because they think you’re the idiot driver just sitting in the left lane when they don’t realize you moved over there to be nice. Loldrivingmissdaisy, Lonesome, Dennixx and 3 others Thank this. -
If their in a governed truck how are they going to speed up? But yeah it would be annoying if someone does so its also quite dangerous. What ever happened to the good old days when people actually tried to help each other out?hope not dumb twucker and Gomer1969 Thank this.
