Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

    I figured you meant @daf105paccar , but they will sell it to anyone last I knew. Don't think independent repair shop gets dealer version.

    No.
    Euro 5 you could buy a DAVIE and it would work.(not supported by Daf/Paccar)
    Euro 6 they linked DAVIE to the internet.
    So unoffical DAVIE's do not work.
    Only dealers and BIG customers get them now.
    No independents shops,no O/O's ,.........
    In that regard the US way is better.

    All brands do it here now.
    They want you at their workshops.
    That's why it is important to buy a truck where you get good service.

    Carefull.
    Mercedes (and probably FL as well) and Daf sensors look the same at first sight, but keying of connectors is different, and they send different CAN messages.

    Same with Volvo and Iveco and ISB Cummins in certain applications. Look the same but are different.

    Not simply interchangeable.

    Newer trucks have PM sensor and ammonia sensor as well.

    They started to remove the the ammonia sensor and first PM sensors were junk.

    Oh,lets be clear,i only pointed out that the design was the same ,at no point did i want to imply the are interchangeable.
