Im asuming your not a local driver? I have had people cross raised meadians to take a gap in front of me that was closing due to traffic slowing, even tho i was already slowing AND had a good gap, they drop in and oh #### traffic! They lock up with 3 car lengths in front of them! And i am the type to call 4 wheeler behaviour a half mile before they act. You will NEVER, repeat NEVER be able to compensate for all actions short of handing in your keys.
Why do some drivers engage in this dangerous practice?

ok not reading much of this but radar's cannot be utilized to stop a vehicle that is doing 3 over or under because that is the range of error in a radar

I deal with Chicago plenty, never came close to rear ending someone yet. Except when I wasn't paying attention.magoo68 Thanks this. -
Then count yourself amoung the lucky, i have plenty of close calls, and they were only avoided becuse i was paying attention. i drive local all day everyday, so its multiple times a day im dealing with some real jack holes. How many times a day do you have someone running up your right side, you see them comming, you know there gonna do it so you back down a bit so they dont have to cut to close... dont mater they take the paint off your bumper anyway, even with a half mile of open freeway in front of you. So you grab a little brake to open up a gap.. then they decide they want tp go left, problem is theres a car there, so they lock up to drop behind them before a exit. Like i said, hand in your keys if you think you can always anticipate them. Neerly tag a dumb ### for no good reason with no warning. Not my fault. I saved his life. Best to stay out of mn. There plenty stupid here.

See? You and I actually agree. Sure there is the one in a million times when you cant avoid it, but by paying attention and not tailgating most every rear end accident would be avoided.
I've run Minnesota for years, if you think its hard to drive there it might be time for you to hang up the keys. -
No but aparenty you do. Acording to you there is no such thing as a 4 wheeler responsible for a crash involving a big truck. So it must be the truck drivers fault everytime. Becuse "paying attention ALWAYS stops all accidents" at least thats what i get from you. Ive done chi, la, denver, slc, atlanta yada yada. The point i was making was there is no such thing as always avoidable. You think so. So by simple reasoning every bump scratch and crack in your life have ALL been YOUR fault. I disagree and pointed out a few situations where a matter of seconds changed everything. Even paying attention ot wouldnt take much from some ####### on front to eliminate those seconds, and boom. Still not my fault. Yours maybe, not mine.

Lots of truck crashes involving other trucks. Some of you meed to realize that it isn't just four wheelers that are bad drivers. -
Never said they were, but thats what you were talking about. Changing the topic after doesnt change it. I cant cut and paste (on a phone) but you were claiming there is no excuse for a rear end with a 4 wheeler, thats what i was speaking to. Yeah there are some horrid truck drivers, of cource there are.
-
Plenty of drivers out there with a few million safe miles to prove that being a defensive driver makes avoiding rear ended someone possible.
I'm done discussing this with you. You cant see the forest through the trees.ttyson Thanks this. -
And plenty of safe drivers get caught up by stupid behavior, both truck drivers and 4 wheelers. Theres more then one kind of tree in a forest.
