Try pulling up to a Albuquerque Stop sign, when 3 vehicles jump right in front of you and slam on the brake. The instructor sitting next to me when I was still taking classes for my CDL had to straight arm the Dash I braked so Hard. The bed of the Truck pulled in front of me was hidden by my hood. Thought for sure I was going to rearend that truck, probably couldn't have squeezed a gnats balz between our bumpers. Then my instructor yells at me "Wat tha _ _ _ K?" He couldn't even see the truck.
Why do some drivers engage in this dangerous practice?

You should have approached the stop knowing that one, two,or three, cars would/could jump in front of you,see you slow your roll as a PRO and eaze on up with room to spare

It's everyone else's fault!
This is why I love hauling wide loads, people tend to try and stay away from you. Some even run off onto the shoulder when you pass them or they are coming from the opposite direction. Even if you are in your lane. That is except for the ### wipe that was hanging out next to my load yesterday. Car speed is 75 and truck speed is 65 and he had to hang out in the shadow of my 330 excavator load. I finally got tired of him being there and turned on my blinker and after 20 seconds started to ease over... suddenly he found out where the throttle was.
Now as to the OP, It is probably the same reason that 4 wheelers pull over so close in front of me that I can not see their bumpers over the end of my w900 hood. There is none. Normally a 5 second blast on the air horn gets their attention. Oh and by the way, I drive 99% of the time in Montana. Has anyone seen any traffic up here? Well except if there is wildlife on the side of the road and all the tourists have to pull over to get a photo. -
I was in low gear easing up to the sign is why I didn't crush the moron.
