A secret to happiness is shedding all your toxic associations.

Don't get dragged into drama, don't hang out with people who have their own little rain cloud they drag around with them everywhere they go, don't listen to the news every day and don't forget the purpose of TV and Radio (maybe all media, actually) is to sell you stuff by manipulating your perceptions about what you need and what you are supposed to think about things.

We sit on our butts as it is. It’s not like trucking is a difficult job. And I’ve done the local driving gig. Absolutely hated going to the same place every day and doing the exact same thing. Couldn’t stand it. But those jobs are there for people who like that sort of thing.

 

Toughest trucker? I thought I was pretty tough when I cut a gash in my finger around 4 am cutting a hole in a mudflap, went home and bit into a towel and soaked it in alcohol and waited for the clinic to open for my 9 stitches. Then, ran a 650 mile trip and got home about 11 pm. (Paper logs, woohoo)

Or getting a blood blister under a nail, heating a straight pin up on a stove eye and going under the nail or through it to pop it. Sucks at first, but it’s instant relief
