Not as much with today's better more streamlined vehicles. However in the past it did work. When you got that huge truck in front of you your vehicle is not pushing against air. Nascar fans already know how drivers can get in a line and go faster then they could alone. Like I said with today's better designed cars these effects are not like they once were.

Yes, this tractor is almost a carbon copy of the truck my father drove back in the 60s. It was in that old White cabover I first saw Chicago and well as Miami and New York city. I saw that photo online a while back and decided to keep it. I am almost brought to tears because I lost all my old photo's of the actual truck.

With the cars getting more light and with all the aerodynamics being used in trucks the truck can push a car into a spin without ever touching it physically, Those old trucks were just bricks going down the road and were fun in the wind.

OP, you leave put important details such as how many lanes and in which direction. Not accusing you per se but too many "drivers" do not understand that slower traffic is to keep right.

I carry little sample bags of cement powder, a toss out the window it will travel over my trailer and break on the windshield of the guy parked on my dot bar. Dumping a water bottle out the window first makes a nice gray smoo when they hit there wipers.

Of course I would never do anything like that.

During the hurricane Irma evacuation in Florida I drafted a rig (I won’t say tailgate) for one-hundred miles or more between Key West and Kissimmee. Every move he made I made, the guy was really clipping along too. As a result I got about 28 mpg from a fully loaded V8 Grand Cherokee. Probably more since that was only my trip average...

In my defense I will say that this was during a state of emergency where access to fuel was spotty, and in the Florida heat with animals, running out of gas on the highway was not an option. The trucker didn’t seem to mind my hanging out behind him either for that long, not sure that he even took note. While everyone passed us, burning gas.

That's really stupid of you, If he blew off a gator, it can literally take the top right off your jeep, probably your head with it. I have seen it happen by Baker on 15 south bound, Took out the right windshield pillar, and the guys, wife's head end up in his back seat, to save some gas, morons.
