    Actually what you said was:
Please show me where your said the word "some" in your broad generalization. Maybe the truck drivers you hang with do drugs. Probably another good reason for you to avoid the industry.

because they aren't supertruckers, they are just wanna be supertruckers....

supertruckers don't post here, they don't post at all, most don't even have a computer. They old school, running and gunning, working hard and playing even harder...they aren't goofing around on no stinking internet unless it's to look up some free porn.

It makes some folks feel superior to rip apart a newbie.

You bet, especially when the person generalizes that truckers are drug users. Nothing to do with superiority. Just setting the record straight. Can't take the heat? Well, you know the rest.

There is a reason one is considered ok.

So what do you consider more unsafe? Running 2 hrs over on your logs, well rested, to get the job done and save yourself, your company and your shippers and receivers some money, heartache, and grief?

    -OR-

Running a clean logbook and blowing a .17 BAC when you get pulled over.

I'm not condoning either, not trying to judge you either, I am just getting sick and tired of this opinion out there by SOME newer drivers. It's getting to the point where people think anyone who doesn't have a Quallcom with Electronic Logs is a cowboy who drives 3000 miles in 3 days with 3 logbooks and no sleep.

I am learning these E-logs SUCK majorly. Always loosing 2 hours each day as the 11 hour clock pulls your start time from 4 am to 2 am to midnight. Eventually you get a couple days where you are under 3-4 hours of sleep before a 12 hour drive.

    Actually,
The trucker lifestyle is a pretty tame one.
Half the truck stops I go to don't even sell beer.
Most truckers just eat, sleep and drive....I've been disappointed a bit even, I expected a little bit more of a rock-n-roll atmosphere.
Pretty tame crowd consisting of fatso's, old folks, foreigners, and misc anti-social misfits.

I'm in the misc anti-social misfit catagory.

WRONG! I don't think trucks and drugs mix. I also don't complain about EOBR's, and running multiple logs are also wrong.

I also didn't see "some" in the OP's post. More blanket statements?

Blanket statements like that is what get's people in trouble.

Off topic, but when it has come to the real world, I have been treated with a lot of respect. No chewing up and spitting out when it has come to my encounters with the crusty ol' drivers. Maybe it has something to do with my sex, but that brings me to my next point - "the men from the boys"? Pfft! You gotta find some different idiom to use, lol.

Thank you to every driver that has been nice to me. I cringe at the thought of someone treating me like crap because I have less experience.

I don't think it is a matter of experience. But what seems to happen is those with less experience making broad statements based upon something they "heard" or they "knew a cousin's friend's aunt's babysitter's brother" that did "XYZ"....

I got a ton of questions answered here when I was starting out, but I was also smart enough to not lay down insults to a group of people as a whole when I knew nothing about it.

    Best of luck to you!

what is the definition of a super trucker??--i always thought it was the solar cowboys sitting around criticizing everybodys backings skills while the real drivers are out there hammering out miles getting the job done
