You can find me on Facebook and YouTube and my picture is on both accounts and I can assure you I don't look anything like Rakish. And yes if you want more power you need to buy a bigger box instead of trying to squeeze more power out of something that is incapable of producing more power on the fundamental frequency.

Hey I can only wish I drove a truck like yours so I could put my old Volvo antennas back on there and be back on the air. no more large cars for me until my divorce is finalized and my children are safe

Watch "Who I am" on YouTube

This should dispel that Myth about Who I am. If anybody tells you that you they can get more power out of a transistor than that transistor is rated for they are lying to you simply because they are ignorant and don't have the proper test equipment to show you what frequency that power is on. Sure you can get 250 watts out of a Toshiba 2SC2879 transistor. Maybe 10% of it will be on frequency and the rest of it will be splattering across a 2 gigahertz spectrum. Sure you're going to have SWR problems and be talking on all 40 channels at the same time and people will be lucky to hear you 10 miles down the road.
It sure looks nice on a bird meter but it looks crappy on a spectrum analyzer and if your technician doesn't have one of those you are wasting your time. Even if he has one and he is not on the whitelist of CB shops to trust I'd be willing to bet money that he doesn't have any clue what to do with that piece of test equipment. And I suspect that is something that even most ham radio operators who are more educated on this subject than most CB operators would agree with.
And this my friends is precisely why when the Skip was rolling earlier today Harddrive's barefoot 10 watt radio smoked Wolfman's 4000 watt radio in Dx land. I hope this was informative.

Reason for edit: 250 watts out of a Toshiba 2SC2879 transistor @ 30 megahertz

You can do a Google search for fine tune CB shop in Las Cruces New Mexico. I'm surprised in all your years of driving you haven't noticed guys and sitting in truck stops thinking that they have a big radio dominating the parking lot and being the first to fade off into nothing as you drive past the truck stop. The guys who have the cleanest signal have the greatest distance.

If I had to choose between something convenient like visiting a radio shop in my local area for mediocre results or spending the money for round trip shipping my equipment for the best results I would gladly ship my stuff to the far ends of the earth to get the results I am looking for as long as those results are unachievable in my local area.
