First time I'm seeing that kind of damage to a cab.
It should have hold better. And protect the driver better.

They had to start building them out of plastic to cover the added tare weight of all the coffee makers, stoves, refrigerators, tv’s and home entertainment systems these people all seem to need to have with them. That’s why it looks like somebody rolled a motor home when they crash one.

Cabs come off a lot these days on all makes due to them not having solid mounting points anymore. Cost of safety for having air ride. Even back in the day Petes had a 3 point mounting system with two bolts in front one at each corner and just one bolt in center rear. White Motor products from which North American Volvo came from had four point mounting.
If you ripped a cab off a truck back then you were a legend because you only had less then a 1% chance of it happening even falling down a cliff.

I mean your not wrong...that said my fridge, laptop and little achohol stove are more then enough to keep me content and only add around 40 pounds.

As for volvas, its because so many people cut holes in the floor and all the acidic curry and pickled everything waste eating away at the supports.....

There is that, but sometimes you attend someone else’s crash just ‘cause you were handy. They should come with a little bit of survivability for those instances to protect the innocent.

About 10 yrs ago, Schneider Frieghtshaker sleeper was involved in a 5 car on I-76 outside Brighton, Co, the cab ripped loose and ended up sitting upright in the median about 70' from the frame and engine
