As a former Deputy Sheriff who worked the traffic division, I hated to see a person that had gone through a windshield. All they had to do was take 2 seconds and buckle up. They do save lives!

my insurance agent tells me all sorts of crazy stories from claims he hears about. One was there was ambulance driver in maine responding to a call, he wasn't wearing his seat belt and hit a frost heave in the road under some snow, got thrown out of his seat, then the ambulance crashed and killed him because he wasn't behind the wheel to control the bus. SInce he was dead, he never radio'd in, and by the time they figured out he was out of commission the person he was going to pick up also died. One seatbelt would have saved two lives. crazy story. I always buckle up but I never had thought about it as a device to help you retain control of the vehicle as well.

Still waiting for an answer as to why in pa you dont have to wear a helmet for a motorcycle but have to wear a seatbelt except in school buses?

The things we don't think about are the things that get us into the most trouble.

The helmet & seatbelt thing I really don't understand either. We have the same law in SC of not having to wear a helmet on a motorcycle.

I'm sure there's plenty of kids without parents that would disagree with your logic.

Dont be so literal, it's one way of saying the gene pool needs a little chlorine. See my signature for clarification if you like.'

It is rather crude though, I do have to admit. Don't know that I disagree with it though...

When I tell people who get into my SUV, to buckle up,and they complain,I tell them that I don't want them to take ME out, by flying around the interior.
