2 more great drives through CA are hwy 89 between Mt. Shasta and Lake Tahoe, and also hwy 395 between Susanville and Reno
-
I don't drive semis yet so I don't have to worry about it, but I'll be ~50' long towing a boat back down the mountain
-
yeah .... WATCH THE S CURVES AT THE TOP AND HALF WAY DOWN .... HOPE THAT YOU ARE LEGAL ON THE WIDTH .... NOTHING OVERSIZED ALLOWED UP THERE ESPECIALLY GOING OUT OF LAKE TAHOE ON THE SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN GOING UP ... HECK I WOULD HAVE TO TOUCH THE SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN SOMEPLACES DRIVING AN 48' WITH AN DAY CAB JUST TO STAY BETWEEN THE LINES.
-
I'll be 102", just legal. Most likely I'll get the brakes hot going down there, it's steep near the top. Last year I hit some traffic at a construction zone and got the brakes smoking trying to stop from 45 mph going down that hill.
-
all of the trailers that i have taken up and down 50 were only 98" wide . But we are only talking about 4 " between that and 102" i did that for a year and a half every tuesday and came back wednesday evening.
-
widest I've ever been was 119" up 80 to 89 to Tahoe City, Wide load signs galore...up 50 I have been 108"
