I've only had to go to CA once. I remember everyone, including cars, having to stop at a gate just to gain entry into the state. I knew I was in a foreign land when they wanted me to pay $0.10 extra for a bag at the Pilot.

Truck stops were 50 miles from LA with hardly any parking. Everyone was speaking Espanol. All that was fine, but the 55 mph speed limit is really the only thing that annoys me. Even out in the middle of nowhere, it's still 55 for trucks.

Didn't say anyone was anything, just pointing out that California does a lot of inspections. I mean, when you look at it, most states are in the 5 digits vs. the 6 digit range, let alone half a million. Besides, the post was about California, . Maybe the states with lots of inspections, just have more trucks, idk If you want me to say who is first or second between them two, I would roll with Texas as first, due to the OOS rate.

Don't lump all of us truck drivers into the same category. I miss doing those California runs. You can't get a decent carne asada burrito east of the Mississippi River and you can't get a decent donut outside of California. I forgot about voodoo doughnut in Portland Oregon and Shipley's donuts down in Texas.

You pointed to CA,i just showed that they aren't the only one who do lots off inspections.;)

A while back there was a thread about inspections and OOS where inspections vs population vs OOS's where compared.
CA was in the top 5 but some off the less populated states had more inspections and more OOS's in %.

As long as you got your ducks in a row California isn't so bad to occasionally visit
