What needs editing? He is exactly correct. The melting dry ice will displace the oxygen in a confined space and anyone in that space could asphyxiate. Dry ice is not harmless, it can be quite harmful if precautions are neglected.

    Murphy's law bro.

    Happened to me too.

Same as when you park way in the back corner of a deserted lot so as to have some peace.
Next thing you know you have JB, Swift, Werner and SNI all parked next to you.

    WTF??????????????

Its the sheepeople affect. They get lonely and scared and have to be by other truckers.
And here I thought I was the only one in Tolleson the other night that had the trucks on BOTH sides idling when it was 58*:biggrin_25510:
I like the free night of sleeping (nights I don't have to run gen or anything to sleep) Those nights are goning to be far and few inbetween for the next 6 months in Phx area. Time to say in the mountains and come in real early

I'm spoiled with a ThermoKing Tripak but know what you mean. Some have legitimate reasons and have a reason to be comfortable day in and day out. But there are alot that idle to show off their chicken lights all night or to keep a $3 pack of bologna cool. They just don't make sense. I'd like to see them on a camping trip. I always try to park out by myself but here always comes that 1000 rpm idler with the spitting spitter, pachish, pachish every 5 seconds :)

one of the problems with the new breed out here today is they don't think of anyone but themselves and they have no idea what coutesey is . the driver that parks at night with his markers on is not showing off his chicken lights , he leaves his lights on so that the next driver that try's to park next to him when it's dark as pitch can see better so as not to back into his truck, but you guys can only complain and whine about the damndest crap you just got to have somthing to run that mouth about , sure be glad when you grow up. southernpride

I try not to idle at all, but when very cold or hot I will.
I was irritated the other day in Buffalo. I had to sleep all day due to running nights.
It was a nice breezy 60 outside, and it was about 62 in my truck all day. Vents open, fan on, windows cracked.
I was good for most of my break, with several different trucks near me at times. Then a CRST backs in next to me and runs. Air dryer was hissing ever 2 min.
    Happens way too often.
I was in that area a few weeks ago. It was 70 outside and warm with the sun. Parking lot temp had it around 77.
I was warm but trying not to idle. A truck parked next to me running. The outside temp went up some with him there and inside my truck it went up to 103 within 30 min.
So I had to move to away from others. Temps in the truck dropped fast.

The professional driver Does not need you To leave your lights on To back into a parking spot. I think that is why we're told to get out and look! So leaving your lights on Is still no excuse to idle your truck.
Iff you are so concerned About someone taking off your hood Why don't you get out of your truck And guide him back into the parking spot! No because some people And maybe not you Would rather Criticize or make fun of Someone trying to back into a tight spot.

Dave, this exact thing happened to my husband. He was at the recivers, parked way in the back of the lot. The guy that drove in after him HAD to have seen him as he got the view of the broad side of the truck and trailer when driving in the lot. And the hopper has reflective tape the whole length of the trailer. There is no way the guy didn't know he was there. He still backed into him, bent the bumper back into the steer tire, completely took out the new grill, the front of the hood and the inter-cooler. So the next day, we spent a lot of time getting things bent back into place, replacing the steer tire and inter-cooler so that he could continue to run. The hood was pushed almost up to the windshield. So he was backing up at a pretty good clip.

Since then, hubby leaves his running lights on. Simple fact, the guy was tired. And he didn't GOAL. :biggrin_25512::biggrin_2552:

Edit: Hubby was dead asleep, so he had no idea this guy was even there, until it nearly shook him out of his bunk.

Yes as much as that sucks i know it does, if that driver was so tired, he would have hit your truck no matter what.
I have seen some chicken lights that are so bright that they were actually more of a hindrance than a help.
