I agree, but it sure does feel like using a shovel for 12 hours a day 6 days a week for minimum wage.
I don't know, I've done that, was better than minimum wage actually but I wouldn't go back to it for what I was getting.
I still fail to see how you guys make a snap call on a rate per mile without knowing what the expenses are. Is the tractor new - $800 month for liability or Casper like $170? Is the payment $2800 month or $900 month? Fuel. Anyone with any brains is using NASTC fuel card. That's good for an average of 40 cents gallon off at TA/Petro. Trailer? We don't need no stinking trailer. The list of variables is endless. But, bang, unless you average $X.YZ you're toast. Going broke. Let alone if you have a DEF truck. ZOMG. Just kill yourself right? Cummins???? OMG. OMG. OMFG. Better just take all your money, give it to Rawze, then just kill yourself.
And this week will probably surpass my record B&G week. BUT ( Disclaimer ) 1) Alot more miles / work involved. 2) I didn't even want it lol.
My wife and I just hauled a load across the country for two dollars per mile after the split. It worked out to $1.98 per mile. Is that cheap freight?
Wait a minute I thought you were making like 15,000+ per week and 5 bucks per mile?!?!? How’s the hot tub treatin yah? lol jk
