It's getting an air filter this PM ( yearly ). 3000ish more miles, maybe 4. Doing this delivery, then home to the barn for a few days. PM, run the rack, my back axle is starting to stain, so he's gonna replace that seal too. Whatever else he may find. I'm massively paranoid about my front end and drive line, and they are all like "DUDE. IT'S TIGHT." lol.

Me either never have, if it starts its good to go. If it's that cold I don't shut it off. It was about 23f yesterday, not very cold at all. But as I was walking up to the truck after about hour and half of driving to unload I could clearly see I had just over half tank of fuel by looking at the tank. Bottom part of tank that had fuel in it was dry from the warm fuel on the inside.
Guess I can haul even cheaper than the guy adding bottles of magic. LOL

Yes the larger volume of liquid approach I also take. My fuel water separator has a heating element in it too.

The only two nights I idled through the WTF frozen winter last year, was when the fuel line to the bunk heater froze.

There is an entire country full of company driver's that only get paid 45 cents per mile. These driver's don't have a choice to what they are going to haul most of the time

I dont run Power Service all the time ,just when it's really cold . It's actually a good idea to put some in now and then ,it helps to keep your fuel system clean and your injectors clean. You can actually feel the truck run a little better ,like when you just change your fuel filters.
I won't run my truck all weekend at the house ,even though I could I live on a farm. If I plug it in ,and have diesel conditioner in the tank, never have a problem.Nothing magic it just works.

There are actually some owner operators who have to be union to do the work they do. I know of one who owns a tri axle dump truck and one who hauls for a grocery company.

Same here, and that's my point. I could run mine 24/7 also but I pull in and shut it off every day. If its below 25-30f I plug it in to make starting easier on it. When I say I don't shut it off I am referring to if I get stuck out for the night and it's in the teens or less I will leave it run cause my sleeping bag is only good to about 20. I have never put anything in my tanks but diesel, I go out almost every morning m-f between midnight and 5 am and start it. If it starts I go to work, and it always starts. Once it starts and begins pumping fuel through the system its not going to quit then.

I see your point. If I'm stuck out for the night ,and it's not often and it's cold I'll keep the truck running . I've had trucks that have been plugged in over The Weekend start and idle fine with fuel that's starting to gel,but once you start to drive they will bog down and stall due to the wax crystals clogging the fuel filter. This has been in really cold weather -20 type weather , with wind chill making it way colder. Then it's changing fuel filters diesel 911 or kerosene and time waiting for it to clear up.Thats happened a few times in the 32 years driving here in the Northeast . If it's going to be that cold I'll let it run all night or get up a few hours early and start it and let it run. .

You want to be a owner operator,
That's just part of the deal.
