8 yrs ago 75% of today’s rates. Trucks and Trailers for sale cheap everywhere. 7 yrs ago bottomed out 6 yrs ago Trucks and Trailers still cheap but rates started going up.I may Be off a year or so here and there. Lol. Everyone’s complaining about $1.80 w/ all miles instead of $2.00. Try making it on 1.44 all miles. Guess I’m a Cheap Dry Van Freighthauler. No one does it by choice. But that’s the reality of a race to the bottom when freight tonnage falls lower five years in a row. How the H### I survived is a combination of necessity and Luck.By the way no one will admit such Operations. They only load $3.00 a mile freight.Yet they don’t tell you about the 1.20 pm cat litter load home. All controlled by CRST brokerage. All Major Carriers and Independant Reeferheads and Me hauling Same cr@p.Whatever year Werner downsized 1/3 of Fleet along with others right after CF went out of bussiness.Rates soon started going up a little. At first mainly due to everyone going out of bussiness.Any one still standing was ready and set up good. About 6-7 yrs ago

The midwest is God awful right now. I think Indianapolis has like 40 outbound van loads right now.

Worst I’ve saw in atleast a couple years.

Dry van. "Cheap freight" goes on dry vans, or so I think.

There's cheap freight everywhere in everything, you just gotta decide if it's too cheap for you.

True but I meant to say that dry vans are the poorest of the poor. I loathe myself as a dry van owner operator. :(:( Give me a #### reefer or an open deck...I'll show you! I'll be a macho then .....:cool:

LOL, you think so? I have a buddy who's running a flatbed out of Minneapolis and he's dying on the vine.

Get yourself a good used reefer or a flat and give it a go then, you look around a little you can find either one pretty reasonable.
