Now that is a totally different scenario then what it sounded like from the start.

80 or 90mph? When was the last time you've seen a truck doing that? I run the speed limit most places sometime I run 5 mph over and I pass 98% of other trucks on the road. What great danger and risk are you talking about? I have passed Troopers on a regular basis at 5 mph over the speed limit and have yet to be pulled over for it. I fail to understand how people think there is some greatly increased danger from 65 to 70 or from 70 to 75.

Actually, day or so ago (They run togeather at school) while on my way back home I was doing 80 (on 76 I think it is where the limits 75, in my 4 wheeler) and a black and gold international blew past me at easily 90...

My truck isn't governed....I run the speed limit whatever it is wherever I am and I average 6.8 MPG consistantly but I also average many more miles than you do in a day!

But your calculations were shown repeatedly to be incorrect so you resorted to calling people that are actually doing this job day in and day out names...

Stopping time is only relevant if you leave enough stopping distance! I leave a lot of space between my truck and the vehicle in front of me but I see idiots in slow trucks riding 10 feet off the bumper of the car in front of them at highway speeds every day!

Who's safer? Me at 75 MPH with a hundred yards of space in front of me or Joe Fleetdummy runnin'62 MPH with ten feet of space in front of him/her/it?

Don't forget....Niether one of you is an O/O! You're fleece operators and there is no resemblance between a fleece operator and a "real" O/O!

No....YOU don't get it because you have no idea what really goes on out here other than what the instructors/brainwashers at SWIFT have told you!

All you have done since you started this thread is be insulting and condecsending....

I love the fast running. Saw a great tire blowout yesterday. . Was running my usual 65 and got passed going up the hill and boom. Missed all the big chunks. Probably the second best blowout I've ever seen. Nice symetrical pattern, good mix of sizes and I could feel the concusion.

I quit running over 65 when I had my own truck and kept having to replace tires and spend time in the shop. I've gone coast to coast a few times and had the same trucks pass me every day sometimes more than once.

And if your boyfriend is going to be gone in the Navy a few years he will probably have a boyfriend when he gets back. You know what they say ... 220 men went to sea..................

    1) I am going to school at a independant school, it has no ties with swift, the financing is on me, through the school, the reason they financed me at all was because swift prehired me. Hence: I owe my schooling to swift. They are not schooling me, and my school has no association with them.

    2) I have apologised, more than once, publicly and privatly, for my behavior and it has been rectified with the people it has been directed at. Though I hope you enjoyed beating that dead horse :):biggrin_25514::biggrin_25514:

    Stay safe.

As to why I was doing 80 in a 75? Because its that 'five over' rule that most cops seem to understand, though it still begs the question why a loaded flat bed was doign 90 or so, thats the kinda speeding I ment.

And the idiot with a governed truck also trying to pass to squeeze out that extra mile that took 3 miles to pass completely is a ####### when the 4 wheelers can pass and be long gone. Stay where you are at a safe distance and drive!

Don't you just love those stories. I don't want to call BS on it, but I do smell something....:biggrin_2554:

Its funny how they usually leave out the part.... He was running 68mph but they don't tell you he was twisting 1900rpm's and when he dropped his speed he got better mpg's but he also dropped down to 1500r's to where their motor is designed to run and get good mileage.
