The federal government has no power to shut anything down, only the states and the states are very limited to what they can do, most states are illegally (unconstitutionally) shutting down their borders and forcing people to stay in their homes. The very fact that we (the public and the government) didn't know much about this virus at the time with the media feeding all the fear as news (READ ratings) is why everyone panicked.

My complaint with the federal government and trump has to do with a lack of corrdination of supply lines and fixing prices to get the states the items they need. The medical supply chain is so screwed up that it needs something like this to fix it but trump, as with obama and other presidents won't do it under disaster conditions when they can.

China released the DNA maps of the virus back in January or December, those real experts deciphered them and started to work on ways to mitigate the virus as they do with others. The problem is no one talked about this but turned to so called experts and doctors who never were involved with infectious diseases by the media and they said we need to do this or that to stop the spreading, when we may not have shut down much. Panic was instilled into everyone' minds and we are left with a mess.

I speak from personal experience, all of the family except one plus the kids we are taken care of all were infected. The one that wasn't is sitting in Germany right now doing his job in th Air Force. My daughter, myself and my wife were all sick, my daughter the worst because of her existing condition. My wife and I had the flu, which this is what it really is. Today we are all released from quarantine.

My state which has a crappy governor decided to make it so bad that we can't go and buy plants or seeds to grow food, has large numbers because one city doesn't care what they do, they still act like nothing is wrong while their mayor is saying the opposite.

So to recap, the Feds have no power. They can do things that could help, but are failing to do so big time.

The states have power but are overreaching and damaging our rights.

After reading this thread, I'm even more afraid than I was before reading it. Now I'm certain i have no other recourse than to immediately go on 100% disability out of fear of my life.

I will be seeking government paid retraining as well.

I know for myself it's going to take YEARS, probably DECADES of therapy by scantily clad women and high powered medical marijuana and Wild Turkey to overcome this before I can even begin my government paid retraining.

 

Well....you gotta understand, the government made this decision based on what the experts and scientists said. Clearly, government, whether state or fed, isn't laden with experts on disease. They need that mass gathering of experts on disease. If they didn't have this information, I'd have a hard time believing that they would shut anything down, especially since some leaders thought it was a hoax.

 

In plain terms Dear President did not want to be bothered with 50 childrens that need sent to their rooms, He has Governors for that.

You will notice that some Governors like ours in Arkansas has been bending over backwards to keep us open and only closing what he sees as abuses from other states and their people fleeing their lockdowns.

I understand Kansas Gov managed to ban Easter. Well that conflicts with the Constitution and we will go through all that at the Supreme Court Level at some point in the future. But for the present Easter is Banned there. At any rate Easter is all over our televisions and so forth for us at home.

Some Governors have gone overboard, some are doing what they think is best. Others are drunk with power to be blunt and half the bottle still to go. Those are the ones you want to fire come November. Just make a note of them.

I for one am happy Daddy Sam does not recline in DC and order all of us to cower in our homes. Things are not that far gone just yet. At any rate Northcomm with their plans 3400 through 3600 which has to do with maintaining continuity of Government in any level is plenty. I understand NORAD in Cheyenne Mountain is closed up and on internal power for the duration of this Covid19 problem. Which is fine, they have plenty of water and food for a while. Its what they are built for. Even though it was the only time since 9-11 they have closed up the mountain.

 

The biggest, hands down winner, virus phenomenon is that all truck stops now have hot water.

There were only like 4 in the entire United States that had hot water pre virus panic.

Many even have soap now!!!!

I also just washed my face. Is that ok? I mean no one has said to wash your face, just your hands.

Ok, can people stop acting like it's a war on religion? Its not just all Christian an Catholics out there that are being asked to not go in person. You realize every other religion in this country can't go to their places of worship right?

Far as shut down Easter, give me a break. Nobody said you can't practice your religion. They asked you to do it in a different way. They didn't ban anything, take anything way from you, or anything else. An it was the Supreme Court of Kansas that allowed it. If there was an issue with it conflicting with the Constitution they probably wouldn't have allowed it. If there is an issue it'll be decided after the fact by the US Supreme Court.

People are like .."Stop being selfish, wear a mask, stay home, it's not just about you!" then decide they want to go hang out in groups. If the POPE can do his thing due to the virus, surely people here can suck it up an do the same right?

The majority of Churches held virtual mass,. an have been. People crying about Walmart selling a #### tv, but hey, let's pack a lot of elderly people, children, People with health issues, etc. into one spot!

Make up your minds. If you can go to Church I should be able to go out to dinner, go for a walk without some idiot calling the cops, etc. I'd love to do a lot of things right now, but I can't. Being as the majority of the people in government are Christian or Catholic, I find it amusing and equal parts frustrating that people think they took away Easter.

Once again...the Pope can do it, why can't you? (All you's general)
