Driving a 2018 Freightliner Cascadia. When I turn the switch in the sleeper berth with the optimized idle turned on, the air conditioner comes on like it's supposed to, but the air conditioner only runs for about 15 minutes, then turns off. And then I have to take the key out of the ignition, put it back in, and restart the process. Thanks for your help.
Why does my optimized idle not work reliably?

Davidbenjamin Thanks this.

I have the thermostat set to 68, and the temperature in Texas right now is 83 if that is what you are asking. Too hot to sleep without the air conditioner working

I see it now, it says 70 degrees on the dash. It's working now, I just hope it will keep working without having to keep resetting it

Hopefully it keep going all night. When you say a/c stops after 15 minutes do you mean the engine a/c or the electric a/c ? They work together. If you turn on Interior Comfort Mode. The computer will start the engine and use the regular engine a/c to cool the truck. Then it will shut engine off and the electric a/c in sleeper will turn on and cool the sleeper again
If the batteries get low for the electric a/c it should start engine to recharge batteries and cool the sleeper again with engine a/c for 2 hours to recharge the batteries.
If not getting good air flow from sleeper vents the air filter might need to be cleanedLast edited: Jul 12, 2021
