Why doesn't anyone talk on the radio anymore?

I love the CB. I leave it on at a volume where I can still hear it with the FM on. I agree the CB has defiantly took a big slap to the face in the past 5 years. Heck, 5 years ago you'd always hear someone talking. Now, they hardly talk to ya. But I just holler every once in a while for a bear report. 007 is back on the side, 10-4!

Honestly, who really cares about cussing? It is what it is. We've had so much propaganda drilled into our minds that we think it's evil incarnate. It's really not. I think nothing of it when I hear it, and you shouldn't either. It's just words. Heck, if anything, I get a good laugh out of the stupidity most of the time.

What's that they say, though? Sticks and stones may break my bones...but words can never hurt me.

If you let it get to you, you bet your backside it will. I don't let it get to me. As a result, when there is action on the air, I still enjoy it.

If I'm by myself I could care less if one cusses.

However when I have my family along on a trip and I have the radio on (so I can monitor road conditions), the last thing my family needs to hear from some truckers mouth is "shaddup you god dammed son of a ##### #### sucking ############# ###### ######..."

My first and best talking rig was a Lafayette 1011 C. Does anybody besides me even remember Layayette Radio? When someone broke into my car and stole it I purchased a Cobra and have had them ever since...

Many company drivers are using the upper channels.

Well said! We live in a society now where it is all about "me", and if you don't like it I guess you are supposed to check yourself out of society. No civility anymore or consideration for others.........I think they used to call it good manners!

I betcha if there was a greasy dripping fatty cheeseburger drivers would ''reach'' for that, but they won't reach for that mic to give bear reports and road reports..

I'm on mine considerably Galaxy 949 peaked and tuned. I had a Connex 3400HP but with both these radios I can reach out and get some good local.

All you can hear is the CB rambos attacking each other.
