Hi, I sent in my faxed application on 10/08/13 I have left messages for this person, I have sent this person emails and I have always been cordial and kind to her, I have never received a message back from her stating that they have decided to go another direction, or they don't like this or that, but just to ignore me? I'm not asking her to the Movies Saturday Night, My wife would not like that, Why can't they just answer the phone and say, "We have decided to not bring you in for whatever the case may be.... " But just to ignore me is childish I think, is this the way these companies do things now? WOW! Thanks in advance to all of you who may respond here.

Most companies don't call you to tell you they're not going to hire you, they just ignore you.

Chicago is full with companies with 2013 trucks looking for drivers, Amerifreight, AV CARRIERS, IWG and many others, they maybe small companies comparing to England, but they will hire you and pay you .40 per mile.

Yeah this must be the new rules, When I was in business, so be it in another industry 10 years ago, I would take the call stating that we decided on someone else, rather then just ignore the guy, This is hard to believe that this is the new rule, "Oh ignore them, don't waste any energy on the guys we don't want." Really? WOW!

I mentioned that I wasn't calling to ask this person to go to the movies, I'm not in Chicagoland! I hope I made that clear, If not look up there^^^ It says I'm in Arizona! Thanks:yes2557:

Try dialing *67, then the number. That blocks caller ID.

This is the sad truth and reality of trucking companies when trying to apply for a job. They don't have the courtesy to tell you that they don't want to hire you.

Another scenario is when you were involved in a non-chargeable accident where someone else ran into you. The company your trying to apply for ask for a fax of the police report, as if you can prove your story they will hire you, only to receive it and never answer your calls again. Why bother wasting our time asking for a fax when you knew you were not going to hire anyways?

Now that we know this, take the hint real quick when a company does this, and move on if that is how they communicate with their drivers.

Work ethics and respect are just not there anymore, on both sides.

Yes, sad truth quite simply boils down to "considerate", or total lack thereof.
Consideration for others has take a steep nosedive in both business, and in people in general.
Sometimes companies are deluged with applications, and it's very difficult to provide a status report to every applicant, however in most cases it just boils down to my first reason listed.

I do think they should notify any applicant, via an easy form letter email, soon after they do make a decision that they are not interested in you,
and not leave an applicant hanging.

Many companies outside of trucking also operate the same way, sad but true.

Being ignored is NOT a pleasant feeling. It can be very COLD and DEHUMANIZING.

It took me 6 months to get onto the job that I currently work at, as a retail clerk earning single digit wages.

The 1st. 2 years were part-time, the last 4 years have been full time.

I actually had to go to the store and hunt down the manager to get an interview with her. She did eventually hire me. I had been out of work for 7 months.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
