It counts if you walk in and walk out. However, if they have to carry you out it does not count.

What did you guys do before getting into trucking? Most of the jobs I have ever had I worked at least a 10 hour day and usually a 12 hour day.. and I mean worked.. I was on my feet, lifting, bending, etc...

And even now.. I drive from 2am to 2pm.. sometimes I dont get back till later.. then I come home and have yard work and housework to do... for example Wednesday... I got to the yard at 1:30am, took two loads.. first load a double tarped load, the 2nd load a single tarped load... got back to the yard at 2:45 .. stopped at the grocery store on the wayhome, got home put groceries away then mowed my yard and trimmed it, then after a shower I cooked dinner for the family while I did three loads of laundry, after dinner did the dished, vacuumed the house, walked the dogs then went to bed so I could get up at midnight and go to work...

That is one thing that I miss about OTR.. when I was OTR I didnt have all the after work errads and work to do.. I just showered and went to bed.. all the yard work, house work and all was left for my family to take care of... now, I dont have to moe the yard everyday.. but with all the rain we have been gettiing I mowe it at least twice a week...

I still find time to work out at the terminal.. they have a pretty nice gym there so I go work out a couple times a week.. I do it cause there is no way I could meet the physical demands of flatbed and taking care of my home and family if I am out of shape...

Those who dont want to excersize or keep themselves in shape will always have ple ty of reasons or excuses why they cant... while those who believe in the benefits of excersize and being in shape always find or make the time for it...

For me, I have more energy, feel better and am happier when I am in shape.. when I eat healthy and excersize... excersize releases endorphins, it boosts my metabolism which gives me energy, and it strengthens my immune system...

Now.. I would like to point out.. that there are some over weight people who are healthier then some skinnie people...
What I feel is important is to be healthy.. I would rather be a few pounds over weight and healthy then be skinny and unhealthy... the goal should be feeling your best...

No amount of exercise will get you a body like mine. And it is really hard to get no amount of exercise.

Im not overweight..but I want to make a point. A HUGE portion of the USA is obese. Women, children & men. There are more overweight people than physically fit. Many things can be blamed. But what it comes down to is some have to try harder than others to stay fit and there are less and less labor intensive jobs everyday. Its not just the trucking industry that contains out of shape folks. Its the country as a whole. Desk jobs, factory jobs, sales jobs...anything that doesnt require back breaking labor makes people more prone to being unfit, unless they make a conscious effort.
    Thats my two bits.

For a driver in my position, that walks out the door at 7:00 AM and routinely doesn't walk back through the door before 9:00 PM, after work exercise simply is not an option unless I want to be up until 2:00 AM and get absolutely no sleep.
