why double clutch istead of floating gears

    Here's what I believe. Drivers should use the clutch in the beginning and keep using it until they have mastered it. For those you don't know, do not push the clutch all the way to the floor because you'll engage the clutch brake. That's designed to stop the gears from rotating so you can get it into gear. Ever have a truck where the gear would grind and you'd have to slam the gear in. That's because someone before you blew the clutch brake. Keep your foot off the pedal as your driving and as you get better you'll be able to skip gears or not shift as much and when the power is needed you'll know what gear to be in and shift to it. Do that for a couple of years then go to floating if you want to. I still use the clutch, but I usually drive newer truck and the shifting is a little stiff.
