Those who have not had a job in years, down on their luck & can find not place to work, with an empty pocketbook & bank account, expect special treatment.
Wow, the one thing I would dislike is working for a company & I had no access to the boss man. I did when I 1st got out of the Air Force yet after that every job I had the boss, owner, was the one that hired me & if any problem came up I had direct access to him.
Those big companies with the boss being under the boss man, ot many of them have a chip on their shoulder & loves to show their authority, even when they are in the wrong.
why greyhound? why?
Well, you certainly wouldn't like a union job. I too have always had a good relationship with my bosses, but when I had my union job, I got chewed out for talking to the boss. An old timer cornered me and asked what I thought I was doing. I thought he was kidding, but he was dead serious.
No, don't like union jobs, had one, & the union did not stand up for me.
Why this happened I will never know, my truck had 8 good tries on the back, had not been on there all that long, & one night for some reason the tire man took one of them off replacing it with a recap.
That next morning I had a short load, & my truck just about beat me to death, it went bump, bump, bump & on & on............................... About beat me to death.
When i came in I tired to get ther tire shop to change the tire, they would not, so I wnet home.
Having wrote up my truck tire, explaining it very careful.
The next morning I had another short load, the truck nearly beat me to death. When I came back in again I tired to get the tire ship to change the tire, they would not. They were all setting around doing nothing.
Our boss man never got to the shop until about 10:00 AM or after. He would go by parts places picking up any part they may need at the shop.
Again I went home, I was nto going to drive that truck on a 250 mile trip with it beating me to death.
They called in an extra driver, he drove my truck out to the highway them turned & came back to the shop, the tire ship changed the tire for him.
Boss man gave me two weeks off because I refused to take a load. The union would do nothing for me, so I quit. And I told the boss what happen but it did not good.
Unions are not worth anything to me, in my working years I never worked at another place that had a union. Being in a union all you do is give a portion of your money away.
And even if your a very good worker usually the slack workers who kiss up to everyone will get all the good benefits from both the boss & the union."semi" retired Thanks this. -
Swift sent me from Syracuse ny to phx az via greyhound. Holy cow. I had to sit behind a fat transvestite blabbering his/her mouth off about weird sexual conquests......meh!!

Unions
because they worked so well for Detroit -
I have rode my fair share of hounds...and they suck...always crowded and always a fight to get a seat...I avoid greyhound like the plague!
-
Isn't a ride on a Greyhound much better than walking or hitchhiking? Especially with them paying for the ride?
