Hi Jabber, Do you mean, why do the drivers do it? Actually, my ex-brother in law drove for Greyhound in the 80's, and he liked it. He made pretty good money, and did a 4 hour run, hopped in another bus and came 4 hours back. Then they went on strike (mid 80's?) and kept driving as a scab, until things got too nuts,(drivers sabotaged buses and threats)and went to Milwaukee Co. city bus, where he remains to this day.

Look at the positive side of riding Greyhound; after travelling with those strange people from the Twilight Zone, when someone calls you a mentally challenged dummy truck driver you'll feel like it's a compliment.

no, why do companies do it?

Taking a Greyhound isn't bad if you have good company sitting next to you.

Chinatown Thanks this.

I was coming back from Vegas on the redeye and missed my flight back to Chattanooga from ATL. Being up all night I wasn't too happy. Luckily I found they have a shuttle bus (van) that runs ATL-CHA everyday for $50. I gladly paid it.

Are you the one that rides in the back? :)

EverywhereMan and Chinatown Thank this.
Apparently, there's a Greyhound bus museum in Hibbing, Minn.( I know, I'm running) that is supposed to be pretty cool. I heard of a book called, "Hounds of the Road" documenting the history and drivers stories over the years, that is supposed to be pretty interesting.
i'd go there!

last time I was on the bus going to my current company I met these 2 girls and we got to talking, both gave me their numbers.

one doesn't talk to me anymore, I guess her husband started beating her again
and the other girl is too busy to talk, or is mad at the world (everyone thought she liked me, especially after a rumor she spread)

Lol. Not gonna argue with you because you're WRONG!!! I know it all!!! Lol. Now that you're in a truck and driving, always out back a few bucks a week. Like an emergency fund, just in case. I put $20 a week every week in a seperate account in case anything happens, company goes under, accident, etc.
