About 2/3's of the trucks I see broken down, towed, damaged, or taken OOS at a scale are Volvo's. That's why I don't like them.
Why hate Volvos?

If I was OTR company driver id take it over the the cascadia. Just wouldn't like one if I was the guy turning wrenches on itloudtom Thanks this.

Same dress, I'll take a Cascadia, comparing apple to apple. Volvo doesn't age well in my experience.
I live in or near the rustbelt, lots of rusty doors on those older Volvos. And radios, what can I say other than they were so proprietary, they have an unlock code like a computer due to theft of one that fits to replace one that doesn't work, and those goofy light switch setups on the older ones. I'm just scratching the surface here.
But drive what you like or have to. -
What can I say. You're right. Certified old iron right there. True beaut' indeed. It's copycat, not so muchtommymonza Thanks this.

Oddly enough, our mechanics say they'd rather wrench on the Volvos than Freightliners. They've had Volvo's since the WhiteGMC/Volvo days, along with Fords, Internationals, and Freightliners. Volvo gets by far the least hate out of that group, in our shop. Typically squeeze 850K-1.2M miles out of them before getting rid of them, too, which is definitely not typical for most large establishments.Lepton1, Dan.S, Brettj3876 and 1 other person Thank this.

Because they sell so many! I am not sure if I see more FL or more Volvo out here.....it seems close.

I don’t find Volvo’s to be ugly. I’ll tell you what is an ugly truck the international lone starDRAGON64, Badmon and Mattflat362 Thank this.

The funny thing is on 1998-2002 doors don't rust, but on 2003 and up they do
