As for headlights,I think you got to replace them from time to time or something.I drove 8 Volvos within my 2 year career and most of them had decent lows.I remember once in a Volvo leased from Ryder they got so bad that I could only see like 3 yards ahead so when it going to service I requested something to be done about it.They changed lamps and OMG!Lows were much much better than highs before change and highs were blinding everyone when I switched to them.In the rest of Volvos I drove/drive lows were acceptable.
As for pros, definitely big mirrors and good view from driver seat.
It's been well over a year since I drove something other than Volvo (3 Prostars,1 Cascadia and an older Peterbilt) so can't really compare at this point but remember that bed in Prostar was wider.BUMBACLADWAR Thanks this. -
98-03 are the best, simple enough, have N14 or series 60, are just as comfortable as new ones (I drove 2015 with ishift).
I have one 2001 and one 2003. I would buy another one without hesitation if it was in good conditionthejackal Thanks this. -
And this is the best part why I love my 770
tommymonza, kenn2632, 417bigK and 9 others Thank this. -
I requested volvos for the company I currently drive 4. But they decided to go with Mack and some peterbuilts instead.

Does the bottom convert to a bed? If so where is the mattress stored?
-
That was one em Pat ! But the king of lousy Volvo service depts is hands down Volvo of Omaha.
-
Yes, it does, those cushions become a mattress. I just sleep on the upper bunk and always leave the table upLepton1 Thanks this.

Volvo sounds to much like Vulva and drivers that are a little short in the manhood department feel like driving something that sounds like Vulva might reflect poorly on their lack of manhood.
The other hit on the Volvo is the stereotype that they are favored by certain drivers of different nationalities.
Really, the Volvo is probably the best engineered truck out their. 90% of all the truck manufactures use the same components, and only things like the cab are different. In that respect, the Volvo has out engineered them all. Far better ergonomics, living quarters, visibility and ease of operation. It is no doubt the Crapcadia, T680, 579, and even the Pro Star took cues from the old VNL design. Some like the Crapcadia fell ridiculously short in trying to copy the Volvo's characteristics.
Volvo's have been given a bad rap for electrical issues. When the VNL series was revised the dash and integrated systems had a lot of problems. Most those problems were covered by warrantee at the time. Now all the manufactures have the same systems and often the same problems that Volvo had when they first came out with them.Dharok, TallJoe, thejackal and 1 other person Thank this. -
The cab is also sheet metal which is seriously advantagous when it comes to crazy stick on magnets.MidWest_MacDaddy and EZ Money Thank this.
