You must be talking about some 24k gold for paint and holy #### man, 10k for rears and 10k for king pins? Those parts better be made of diamonds. Kingpins for my truck are under 1k with labor
Why hate Volvos?

I said king pins and interior. Last truck I knew of getting painted cost him 20k. Rebuilt rears around here run about 5k installed and trucks I drive have at least 2 of them. I know I am high but worst case you spend 80k on a truck and the only thing you did not change was the wiring.tommymonza and Lepton1 Thank this.

It's got enough room for me and a blue heeler. I'm only 5'7" though. Also weight is a big thing to me everything I do is based on how much I put on no matter if it's on the hopper side or livestock side. On the hopper side being able to put 25 ton on and keep all axles legal is a requirement for a few places. To be honest a classic Pete is all I have ever driven, I don't know any better. To be fair I'm not making the argument that my truck is nicer, I know Volvo's have creature comforts and drive really well but they are not for everyone. All I meant by my comment was we all have different priorities. For instance I do 100 percent of all my own work, having a truck im familiar with is BIG to me. 17K bobtail weight doesn't hurt either. Also I'm more regional than true otr. I'm sure a classic Pete is certainly not a good fit for 90 percent of owner operators.tommymonza, BoostedTeg, Orangees and 5 others Thank this.

Remember that recent recall----of the steering system? At least 2-3 of our trucks just at our terminal had to be put out of service and towed to the dealer. Not sure what the total number was company wide, but i'm sure it wasn't good. i think that was our last straw.TallJoe Thanks this.

I almost bought a Volvo 780 but got scared away by the Volvo engine and there form of auto shift , but truck was roomy and quiet the thing I didn't like on this particular truck was the air ride front Axel I couldn't feel the road and felt myself over compensating on back winding roads . my W rips thru it like a sports car .

my 2006 volvo 780 has 1,155,993 miles on it as of today

if you get a good one they will run forever, the standerd volvo I-Shift will take over 800 HP and over 2,500 tork
as to the road feel. it takes about a week to stop looking like a snake going down the road then life is goodDave_in_AZ and mp4694330 Thank this. -

I love the cliche white Volvo with Chicago company name and Illinois plates with the Russian driver wearing track pants and flip flops. Classic!
