Nighttrain this is from a Former OTR driver myself. You sound more and MORE like a Recruiter to me. Sorry I heard ALL THE LIES TMC could spew when I almost went to work for them in the 90's. However when in the middle of a winter they wanted the truck washed when the States are salting the roads I was like Screw you. I was one that did my job to the best of my ablity to the point that when I complained the Owner Listened.
I hauled about anything you can think of here are a few things I did haul Class 1.1 1.2 1.4's Class 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 Haz Mats. Had a real nasty combo of 3,8 that had to be kept at 25 BELOW ZERO to the point the shipper packed it in Dry ICE to help keep it there. Heck if it paid the bills I pulled it. Best load however had to have been High end stuff 45K lbs of American Kobe style beef to Chitown for one of the big festivals there. Ended up bringing home 200Lbs of that. Since they refused 3 cases of it 1 was Prime ribs 1 was Tenderlions the last ones were Ribeyes. My Family ate them for a few months. -
Nope not a recruiter, but you said it yourself-
"I almost went to work for them in the 90's. However when in the middle of a winter they wanted the truck washed when the States are salting the roads I was like Screw you."
so you never worked for them and there is a reason they wash there trucks in the winter even if it will get dirty again, have you ever seen what road salt does to metal if its not washed off? -
Yes I have however ever seen Drivers HURT by frozen steps or a frozen Flatbed deck. Also the cost involved is ridiculas by going to 2X a month washes that right there would be enough for EZ-pass alone. I have a few buddies with TMC and they see what those washes cost and even with the EPA cracking down on waste water contamination look for alot of Truck Washes to raise prices EVEN HIZGHER since they are going to have to install even more crap to separate waste at the wash.
Do me a Favor Google Arnett Holding legal cases your eyes might open. I called a cousin at Ruan he is in their Leasing Divison and asked him if Arnett Holdings could get equipment thru his comkpany he flat out told me that if he allowed it to happen HE WOULD BE ON THE UNEMPLOYMENT LINE. All Arnett Companies have to pay UPFRONT WITH CASH for the TERM OF THE LEASE. -
what does washes have to do with ezpass and its Annett Holdings. And Ruan is another trucking company. TMC or Annett Holdings does not buy or lease equipment through any trucking company. Im not sure you know what ur talking about bud
oh and I forgot if you look at the reciept from a truck wash it costs about 15 bucks to do it for TMC because they use it so often. Its also a write off, if you look how much money that company makes, not just TMC but the whole of Annett Holdings 2 million a year is a needed write off for taxes. -
Ruan is one of the LARGER LEASERS also. My cousin is in the LEASING DEPT of RUAN not the Trucking Company Side. Also 15 Bucks for a Truck wash NO WAY INHELL are they that cheap anymore maybe 10 years ago. With 4 crew doing the wash at 8 bucks an hour the water used and then the disposal even the Streaking Beacon is LOSING CASH at that rate. But then again your a TMC driver that all he needs is CHROME to keep him happy.
-
i wasnt throwing rude comments to you and when the normal wash only cost 24.99 they arnt losing that much think about it. At $15 dollors a truck every week thats 2 mil a year thats alot of money to make off of one company. Think buddy think
they also deal exclusively with paccar(Peterbilt) and maybe going to International from what I hear. Ruan has nothing to to with TMC sorry -
I don't know what Blue Beacon you are using, but all the ones I used it was $45 to wash Truck and Trailer. And that's a daycab. -
are you an o/o? never seen it that high
-
Nope, company driver. If the Beacons were only charging $15, I can see why they would want to up the price. Regardless of how many trucks TMC has, they were losing money.
