Yes, companies will pre-hire you. The final hiring will depend on successful graduating from cdl school and having any required endorsements. Being pre-hired doesn't put you under any obligation. You can get several pre-hires and then choose the one you want at graduation.
Apply prior to graduation so they have time to process your application. By the time you graduate, you are pre-approved and start working the next day. An application could take up to 30 days in some cases. Read all employment suggestions from Mr. @Chinatown. Read all advice given to new CDL students by Mr. @tscottme. Good luck.
Hello, Thank you for ALL your responses. You have been SOOOOO much help. Another question. Can anybody give me an idea on the endorsements I should get, and if any specifics on obtaining said endorsements? Thank you again for all your help!
Hello, That's funny you say that, because when I talked to the school today that was one of my questions because I dont want to have the automatic only restriction on my cdl. Tha k you for the tip. How do I go about getting as many endorsements as possible. Are they gained through training once I get my cdl? Or is there other ways to obtain other endorsements? Thank you guys all for being so amazing and helping me so much and responding so quickly I wish I could do more than just "thank" for all your guys' help!
When you go to the DMV to test for your CLP. You can test for both doubles and triples and tanker endorsements. Hazmat you have to take a class.
Don't have to actually know anything; just memorize the answers. There's even phone apps. with the questions and answers. I don't know the name of the phone apps., but many on this forum do.
Hello, I got 98% first try. Are the CDL tests standardized and the same, or do they vary? I downloaded an app that rated really well. I will do many practice tests and study the manual. I hope to be able to obtain all endorsements when I go in. Thank you again for all the help.
