Guys that waste your time like that are just rookies. You want them to only call you when serious, chat them up each time they call... Wassup, what's your weekend plans, I just passed a Starbucks... Wish I could find a dunkin. The more he dials the more money he can earn... You chatting him up before saying no, will make him think twice about calling.

I love those guys. I used to pass the phone to my 4 year old and they would go on and on with their pitch. At the end she would say "Hi".

If the kids not home to talk sometimes I will ask them "What did you say?" Ot maybe I just breathe heavy.

I always turned the radio on and put the phone by the speaker.

I've never had anything like that happen yet, 18 calls ? you sure it was a broker and not some kind of stalker ?

Ouch. When I ended up in Denver, I did a 34 plus another day before running empty 300 miles to Kansas to pick up something with a rate worth hauling. You may do better with that fridge of yours though.

What's even more priceless than saying No 18 times, is the last call where you tell them you decided to move MT since their last call and your offer is off the table - it's too late. Usually good for a 4-5 second pause as the fact you would rather move MT than accept their (repetitively) low rate sinks in.
