• A valid, current class "A" CDL -- without an automatic transmission restriction
• All major CDL endorsements (tanker, hazmat, & also doubles/triples)
• A TWIC card (Google it)
• A valid, current US passport
• the work ethic of a freight train
• the patience of a grandfather clock
• a sense of humor rivaling those of the better late-night talk show hosts

Otherwise -- the CDL job hunt, and also that first year to 18 months of driving -- will SUCK pretty badly.
