I remember around 2010 oil field and sand hauling on camps was really popular, and then people stopped talking about it till recently. Why?
Why is oil field work popular again?

What family is in the White House?cuzzin it, Another Canadian driver, Northern Nomad and 1 other person Thank this. -
Because the price is on the WORLD market, not just domestic. If you could sell your product for X at home, but X+Y abroad, you would sell it abroad, provided Y>0. If Y<0, you would sell it all here.
Simple supply and demand. The world's oil price drags our domestic price with it because the producers would just sell it elsewhere when they can get more money for it, making our supply more scarce.baha, Another Canadian driver, snowman1980 and 1 other person Thank this. -

Are you still killing it in the Permian ?
What is an average week like for you these days?Bret1984 Thanks this. -
I've actually been up north for awhile. Not making Permian money but enough to pay the bills and I needed home time for awhile to take care of some stuff. I'm in line now waiting to get a load back out to Midland and already talked to our terminal out west so I'll be back to making the big bucks soon enough. I already upgraded my BMW. If things keep up out west maybe next year I can trade in for a Porsche.baha Thanks this.
